Multi-Year Strategic Plans

You need a road map to get from here to there. Our 3-5 year Strategic Plans begin with a current assessment and a review of any past plans. We guide your team through the process of crafting meaningful goals, developing realistic objectives and metrics, then help you build strategies and action steps to achieve them. Our Strategic Plans include an implementation guide with accountability areas for who’s responsible and a timeline for progress and completion.

One-Year Work Plan

Your organization or community needs an annual Work Plan. A Work Plan is a more detailed version of your Multi-Year Strategic Plan and focuses on what is to be accomplished over a 12-month period. Like the longer term plan, it also includes the development of goals, objectives, strategies, action steps, responsibility areas, and timelines. It is designed to be used as a “living” document at each board meeting to keep board and staff on-target and accountable. How can you measure success without a yard stick? This is your yard stick.

Organization Management

Our staff holds the IOM designation, meaning graduate of Chamber Institute through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organization Management, and is now a member of the faculty at Chamber Institute. We have 29 years experience in Organization Management consulting and advising. We track best practices and bring them to you so that your organization neither has to reinvent the wheel nor spin your wheels. If you are a new CEO/Executive Director, we can advise you privately on the basics. If you are experienced, we can teach you some new tricks of the trade.

Operations Audits

Our newest service is getting rave reviews! Our Operations Audit is intensive and incredibly effective. We come to you for a week-long on-site visit to privately interview members/stakeholders, staff, board members, committees, community partners, elected officials, former-members, and never-members (for Chambers.) It is ideal to perform this when an organization is searching for new leadership or has just hired new leadership, but it can be done anytime you know your organization has room for improvement. We perform a realistic assessment of your operations, then provide detailed solutions for each area of improvement for your organization to implement. It is an eye-opening result. They tell us the truth that they won’t tell you.

Community Planning

Our on-staff Professional Community & Economic Developer (PCED) has worked with hundreds of communities across the country to plan for their future. From public input to focus groups and stakeholder interviews, we will design a process unique to your community to get you a plan you can begin to implement immediately. We and our partners have helped large and small communities with downtown development, parking, housing, healthcare, crime, quality of life, social media, tourism, land use, and many other challenges. We can help your community too!

Economic Development Planning

We know that thriving communities don’t just “happen.” At Opportunity Strategies, we will help you plan for the future in the areas of business attraction, retention, expansion, entrepreneurship, and tourism development. Your community and region need a healthy mix of residential, commercial, industrial, and tourism. Too much or too little of any of those hinder communities. Find the balance you want by letting our experts advise your community on Economic Development and help you get a realistic plan on paper.

Non-Profit Planning

Non-profits face their own set of organizational challenges. They may include fundraising, board governance, staff development, status compliance, membership services, membership development, or a host of other challenges. We have over two decades experience helping non-profits (including local, regional, and state agencies) with planning workshops that lead to a finished product that is a realistic plan for the future. We know how to help you maximize your limited resources and increase the exposure and support of your organization.

Association Planning

No two associations are the same. We realize your association serves a unique set of members and that those members expect a return on investment. When an organization like yours is responsible for membership development, membership services, professional development, event planning, and fundraising, it’s a lot to juggle. We help you determine what your members really want from their membership, prioritize what really needs to get done, and help you eliminate the rest. It’s time to shut out the noise and usher in the excellence.
